Q. What are the services offered by Meru?

You can book Meru Cabs on our Meru Cabs App for Current as well as Advance Bookings upto next 7 days. For current bookings, just click on 'Book Now' button & your booking is confirmed, the Reference Number is displayed. Chauffeur details are then accessed by tapping on "Track my cab" which appears at bottom of the screen. In case of advance booking, the confirmation is given right away and cab details are sent 20 minutes before the pick-up time.

Q. What are the timings for the Meru Service?

Meru Services are available round the clock.

Q. How do I book a Meru Cab?

Q. Can I hail a Meru cab on the road?

Of course, and if the Meru Cab is not occupied or travelling to another assigned pick up, the driver will be more than happy to get you on board. If the Taxi Top is glowing red, it means the cab is engaged. If it is white, he is available and ready to serve you.

Q. Is there a charge for booking on the phone / web?

Yes, there is a 'Convenience Charge' for booking a Meru if you book through our call center number. This convenience charge is currently applicable in Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru only. But, if you book a cab through Meru Mobile Application & website, No Convenience charge will be applicable. To know more about convenience charge, please read our Terms & Conditions

Q. What is the fare that I will be charged?

We charge fare basis the actual distance travelled in kilometers and the actual wait time in minutes. We do not charge any Surge or Ride time charges. All our cabs are well equipped with billing devices / meters which displays the fare accurately at the end of your trip. The fares are city specific & are in line with the fare guidelines prescribed by the Regional Transport Authority / State Transport Authority, wherever applicable.
Meru Cabs believes in Fixed and Transparent Pricing Policy.

Q. Will I be charged for waiting time also?

The charge for waiting time while the meter is flagged on is as prescribed by the Department of Transport of the respective cities. In case of the city of Jaipur / State of Rajasthan, Ahmedabad / State of Gujarat and Chennai / State of Tamil Nadu the waiting charges are self regulated and not prescribed by any authority.

Q. Do I have to pay toll charge when I travel through Meru?

  • Yes, you will be paying 'Toll charge'- at the actual,, when you are crossing the toll post while travelling through Meru.
  • However, in case you have booked a Meru & the cab is crossing the toll post while coming to pick you up, then you need not pay the toll charges.

Q. How do I pay after the completion of my trip?

Meru accepts both Cash and Cashless payments i.e. you can pay via Cash as well as via Mobile Wallet after completion of your trip with Meru. For Wallet Payments, Load your wallet at Payments Section (Citrus, MobiKwik or Paytm) and once the ride is completed the applicable trip amount will be directly deducted from your respective chosen Wallet.

Q. Will I get a printed receipt for the amount paid?

Of course you will. You just need to register your email id with us to ensure that you receive the trip receipt immediately on your email ID at the end of every trip without having to follow up for the same. You may also view your trip receipts (only belonging to app bookings) on the app in Past Bookings Section and email them (Menu-Bookings-Past Bookings-See/Email).

Q. Can I pay using a debit or a credit card?

We don’t have any option to pay directly via debit or a credit card, but with few simple steps you can load your wallet using Credit/Debit card and start using Meru’s Multiple Wallet feature for all your rides
(Mobile App > Log in > Main Menu > Payments > Citrus/Paytm/MobiKwik Login > Top Up)

Q. Can I use the cab without flagging down the meter?

We track every fare that the Meru cab is taking at our Technology Center and actively dissuade our chauffeurs from taking an un-metered fare. An un-metered fare is in violation of the Department of Transport rules and exposes the chauffeur to penal action.
Moreover, if you have a complaint against the chauffeur, you would not have a valid printed receipt / e-receipt at the end of your journey to make a valid complaint.

Q. What do I do if I have left something behind in a Meru?

Please call our Customer Service Centre at 4422 4422 (Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Vadodara, Surat, Pune), 44 22 44 2 (Jaipur) and 33 99 33 99 (Kolkata and Lucknow) and give us the details of the cab number, date and time of travel (all this information will be there on your printed fare receipt / e-receipt) and we will help you track down your missing item. Meru chauffeurs are trained to report items left behind in a cab. So if you tell us the details of your commute, it makes the job easy for us to link you with your missing item!

Q. Can I cancel a booking made?

Our system of handling bookings is automated and once your journey is confirmed by our Customer Service Center, a cab is assigned to report to you. We do understand that sometimes, plans change and you may need to cancel a booking. Please tell us as soon as you reasonably can - that you would like to cancel a booking so that we can avoid a Meru reporting to you, when you don't need it.

Q. In which cities is the Meru Service currently available?

The MERU cab service is now available in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Vadodara, Surat, Pune, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar, Mysore, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Indore, Ludhiana, Coimbatore, Kochi, and Lucknow. We expect to start operations in other major cities soon.

About Convenience Charge

Q. Are there any additional booking charges?

  • • Yes, if you book a Meru by through our call centre number in the cities of Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Ahmedabad, then a Convenience Charge will be applicable over & above your fare charge.
  • • However no such charge is applicable in case you book a Meru through Meru Mobile Application or website or if you hail a Meru on street.

Q. What are the charges that I have to pay if I book a Meru by calling Meru Call Center?

Apart from fare charges, you will be paying following Convenience Charge:
  • For Delhi & Bengaluru city, an additional convenience charge of Rs 40/- is applicable for a pick up within next 35 minutes of your call and Rs. 60/- is applicable for any other booking within 24 Hrs.
  • For Hyderabad city, an additional convenience charge of Rs 25/- is applicable for a pick up within next 35 minutes of your call and Rs. 50/- is applicable for any other booking within 24 Hrs.
  • For Ahmedabad city (State of Gujarat), an additional convenience charge of Rs 30/- is applicable for any booking made through our call centre.
  • It will be charged in addition to your fare charge at respective city & it will get added automatically in your bill.
  • This additional charge is NOT applicable for Meru Mobile Application or Web Booking or Street Pick-Up.

Q. Is there any guarantee for getting a cab if I pay Convenience Charge?

This is not a guaranteed service. Cab will be provided as per availability. The Convenience Charge will be applicable only if you get a cab.

Q. How do I pay the Convenience Charge?

You have to pay this charge to our chauffer along with the fare charges. It will get added automatically in your bill.

Q. Why do I have to pay the Convenience Charge?

The Call Centre booking is a dedicated service offered to Meru customers. The convenience charges are applicable for bookings confirmed by the call Centre. The call Centre helps arrange for the cabs in spite of the cab being a distance away. There are costs and resources used for such a service at the call Centre. This charge will be payable at the end of the journey along with the taxi fare. However, this Convenience Charge is not applicable if you book a cab through our Meru Mobile Application or website or when you take a cab from the airport or pick a cab on the street.

Q. Will every call to the call Centre attract the Convenience Charge?

No, Convenience Charge will be - applicable only if you make a booking through call Centre & you use the cab service. Any other service calls i.e. to check the booking status, to cancel/modify a booking, to give your feedback, or an enquiry call will not attract any fees.

Q. From when & where this Convenience Charge is applicable?

It is already applicable in Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad (State of Gujarat). It was not charged earlier as a company policy. However in the interests of being able to deliver better services, this will ensure greater accountability with the company to deliver the service. We are working towards introducing this charge in Mumbai, Jaipur / Rajasthan and Ahmedabad / Gujarat as well.

Q. I don't want to pay this charge. How do I still proceed with the booking?

For the bookings made through the Call Center in the cities of Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad (State of Gujarat) will attract this Convenience Charges. However, if you book a cab on our Meru Mobile Application or website or if you hail a cab road side (if not pre booked), you will not have to pay Convenience Charge.

Q. Do I need to register at your website to avail the Meru service?

Yes, you need to register on our website using mobile number. This can help you login and book a Meru in less than 60 seconds! Please do not forget to change your password when you log in for the first time.

Q. I am a registered user and have forgotten my password!

If you are a registered user, please enter your correct login id i.e. your registered "Mobile Number" and "Password". If you have forgotten your password, please click on "Forget password" link next to log in window on home page. Enter your user id (i.e. your mobile number) then click on "SMS me the password" button. We will send your password via SMS & email.

Q. I am not able to login!

Call us at 4422 4422 for Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Vadodara, Surat, Pune and 44 22 44 2 for Jaipur and 33 99 33 99 for Kolkata . Please use the city specific STD code and we will try and see if we can help you. But first checks if you are using the right log in ID and the correct password.
