Q. What are the timings for the Meru Service?

Q. How do I book a Meru Cab?
You can book a Meru either through our Website or Phone.
• To book a Meru through the website, visit our home page: www.merucabs.com.
• To book through phone please call 44224422 and also use the city specific STD code.
Q. Can I hail a Meru cab on the road?
Of course, and if the Meru Cab is not occupied or traveling to another assigned pick up, he will be more than happy to get you on board. If the Taxi Top is glowing red, it means the cab is engaged. If it is white, he is available and ready to serve you.
Q. Is there a charge for booking on the phone / web?
Yes, there is a 'Convenience Charge' for booking a Meru if you book through our call center by dialing 44224422. This convenience charge is currently applicable in Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru only.
But, if you book a cab through this website, No Convenience charge will be applicable.

Q. What is the fare that I will be charged?
The fares for Meru are those prescribed for metered radio taxis in your city. These include fares for distance traveled, waiting charges, if any and a night surcharge as applicable in your city if you are availing the service during the night time between 12-midnight and 5 a.m.
Q. Will I be charged for waiting time also?
The charge for waiting time while the meter is flagged on is as prescribed by the Department of Transport of the respective cities.
Q. Do I have to pay toll charge when I travel through Meru?
- Yes, you will be paying 'Toll charge', when you are crossing the toll post while traveling through Meru.
- No, when you booked a Meru & the cab is crossing the toll post while coming to pick you up.
Q. How do I pay after the completion of my trip?
You can pay the chauffeur in cash or by debit/credit card (VISA/Master Card/ AMEX) as per the fare on the meter with extras if any (for waiting or night surcharge) and a printed receipt for the same will be given to you. Please always insist on the printed receipt. The debit / credit card payment facility is available at Mumbai, Bengaluru (Bangalore), Hyderabad and Delhi city. If you have any complaint, please fill up our
client feedback form - this will help us to resolve your problem quickly.
Q. Will I get a printed receipt for the amount paid?
Always. Please insist on it. Our chauffeurs are trained to give the receipt for every fare they collect. If by oversight this is missed, please ask for a receipt.
Q. Can I pay using a debit or a credit card?
Yes, you can pay the fare charges by your debit or credit card as well. We accept all VISA, Master Card & AMEX for payment. This facility is available at Mumbai, Bengaluru (Bangalore), Hyderabad and Delhi city.
Q. Can I use the cab without flagging down the meter?
We track every fare that the Meru cab is taking at our Technology Center and actively dissuade our chauffeurs from taking an un-metered fare. An un-metered fare is in violation of the Department of Transport rules and exposes the chauffeur to penal action.
Moreover, if you have a complaint against the chauffeur, you would not have a valid printed receipt at the end of your journey to make a valid complaint.
Q. What do I do if I have left something behind in a Meru?
Please call our Customer Service Center at 4422 4422 and give us the details of the cab number, date and time of travel (all this information is there on your printed fare receipt) and we will help you track down your missing item. Meru chauffeurs are trained to report items left behind in a cab. So if you tell us the details of your commute, it makes it easy for us to link you with your missing item!
Q. Can I cancel a booking made?
Our system of handling bookings is automated and once your journey is confirmed by our Customer Service Center, a cab is assigned to report to you. We do understand that sometimes, plans change and you may need to cancel a booking. Please tell us as soon as you reasonably can- that you would like to cancel a booking so that we can avoid a Meru reporting to you, when you don't need it.
Q. In which cities is the Meru Service currently available?
The MERU cab service is now available in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. We expect to start operations in other major cities soon.
About Convenience Charge
Q. Are there any additional booking charges?
- Yes, if you book a Meru by calling 44224422, a Convenience Charge will be applicable over & above your fare charge.
- No, if you book a Meru through website or if you hail a Meru on street.
Q. What are the charges that I have to pay if I book a Meru by calling 4422 4422?
Apart from fare charges, you will be paying following Convenience Charge:
- For a pick up within next 35 minutes of your call, an additional charge of Rs. 25/- per booking is applicable.
- For any other booking within 24 hrs, a charge of Rs. 50/- per booking is applicable.
- It will be charged in addition to your fare charge & will get added automatically in your bill.
- This additional charge is NOT applicable for Web Booking or street pick ups.
Q. Is there any guarantee for getting a cab if I pay Convenience Charge?
This is not a guaranteed service. Cab will be provided as per availability. The Convenience Charge will be applicable only if you get a cab.
Q. How do I pay the Convenience Charge?
You have to pay this charge to our chauffer along with the fare charges. It will get added automatically in your bill.
Q. Why do I have to pay the Convenience Charge?
The Call Center booking is a dedicated service offered to Meru customers. The convenience charges are applicable for bookings confirmed by the call center. The call center helps arrange for the cabs in spite of the cab being a distance away. There are costs and resources used for such a service at the call center. This charge will be payable at the end of the journey along with the taxi fare. However, this Convenience Charge is not applicable if you book a cab through our website or when you take a cab from the airport or pick a cab on the street.
Q. Will every call to the call center attract the Convenience Charge?
No, Convenience Charge will applicable only if you make a booking through call center & you use the cab service. Any other service calls i.e. to check the booking status, to cancel/modify a booking, to give your feedback, or an enquiry call will not attract any fees.
Q. From when & where this Convenience Charge is applicable?
This Convenience Charge will be applicable in Delhi from 7th Dec 2010. It is already applicable in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. It was not charged earlier as a company policy. However in the interests of being able to deliver better services, this will ensure greater accountability with the company to deliver the service. We are working towards introducing this charge in Mumbai as well.
Q. I don't want to pay this charge. How do I still proceed with the booking?
From 7th December 2010, for all bookings made through the Call Center, at Delhi will attract this Convenience Charge. It is already applicable in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. However, if you book a cab on our website or if you hail a cab road side (if not pre booked), you will not have to pay Convenience Charge.

Q. Do I need to register at your website to avail the Meru service?
Yes, you need to register on our website using mobile number. This can help you login and book a Meru in less than 60 seconds! Please do not forget to change your password when you log in for the first time.
Q. I am a registered user and have forgotten my password!
If you are a registered user, please enter your correct login id i.e. your registered "Mobile Number" and "Password". If you have forgotten your password, please click on "Forget password" link next to log in window on home page. Enter your user id (i.e. your mobile number) then click on "SMS me the password" button. We will send your password via SMS & email.
Q. I am not able to login!
